Disturbance at Greyhound Bus Depot
On 12/21/08 at 0907 a.m., officers responded to the Greyhound bus terminal at 8th and Stewart, on a call of media inciting unhappy bus travelers over cancellation of bus services due to the weather conditions. Upon officers’ arrival, media personnel had already conducted their interviews and left the scene. However, the crowd of riders (approximately 100) was still anxious and excited over the cancelled service.
The district officer remained at the terminal, as Greyhound provided food and comfort services, calming the group of riders. Two SPD units provided nearby courtesy transportation to two riders in immediate need, as taxi service was also cancelled/limited.
