On 03/7/09 at 1220 a.m.,  SPD officers working off duty at a local business near Taylor Av N and Thomas Street heard several shots fired north of their location.  They immediately advised dispatch of the situation.  As officers were responding, a shooting victim ran to the off duty officers and advised that he had been shot.  Officers noticed that his right ear had been grazed and he had also been shot in the buttocks.  The victim informed the officers that he did not know the shooter and could only describe him as a male wearing dark clothing.

Officers located the crime scene at Taylor Ave North and Thomas Street.  The scene was immediately secured.  Three  shell casings were located as well as the victims shoe.  Two vehicles were found with bullet  holes.

The victim was transported to HMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The Gang unit processed the scene and responded to the hospital to interview the victim.
