July 4th Public Safety Message
The Seattle Police Department and Seattle Fire Department would like to remind the public that there are no legal fireworks in the City of Seattle.The possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use of fireworks are prohibited. Fireworks offenses are gross misdemeanors punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $5,000 fine.

Shots Fired
On June 26 at approximately 1:25 a.m., downtown officers heard 5-6 possible gunshots coming from the area of 1st Avenue South. Stabbing suspect at large
On 6/26/09, at approximately1:30a.m.,North Precinct officers responded to Swedish Ballard Hospital and contacted two victims, one reported being stabbed in the lower back/abdomen area and the other had been hit in the head with a beer bottle.
