Posted by Media Relations
On August 5th, at approximately 1:54 a.m., South Precinct officers responded to the 9000 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South to investigate a motorcycle accident with injuries. Upon arrival officers discovered a deceased adult male who apparently was thrown from one motorcycle and another adult male with life-threatening injuries from another motorcycle. Seattle Fire Department responded and transported the injured male to Harborview Medical Center.
The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to the scene and began their investigation. The northbound lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., from the 9200 Block (Merton Way S.) to the 9000 Block (Henderson) were closed while the detectives conducted their investigation. This is an on-going investigation, but preliminary indications are that speed may have been a factor.
