On August 24th at approximately 4:40 p.m., a Lexus was traveling southbound on 5th Avenue approaching Olive Way.  At the intersection of 5th and Olive Way, the Lexus collided with an adult male bicyclist. 

Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and determined that the bicyclist had life threatening head injuries.  Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for emergency care.
 
Traffic Collision Investigation detectives responded and processed the collision site.
 
It is possible that the bicyclist may have proceeded through a red light without yielding.  The investigation is active and ongoing.
