On 10/1/09, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a female victim was using her iphone in the area of 2nd and Stewart St.,when she noticed two young males following her. When she turned her back to walk away, she was pushed into a doorway by one male while the other grabbed the iphone. The suspects then ran off.
The victim chased the one who pushed her. She caught the suspect with the assistance of other bystanders. The other suspect was chased by another bystander (well known transient who plays the drums on the street). This witness lost sight of the suspect at Macy’s.
Officers found the suspect still holding onto the iphone. Both suspects were juveniles and booked Youth Service Center for Investigation Of Robbery.
