SPD employee directs young adults to the Anchor Program

The Anchor Program is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit service organization that provides vocational and life skills to youth and young adults.  It prepares students for positions in the maritime industry.  Training and career opportunities are also available in janitorial services.  The cornerstones of the Anchor Program are the values held by its founder and Executive Director John L. Hastings:  honor, skill, dedication, and a just reward for a job well done.  These beliefs help to ensure that each student completes the program with a solid foothold on the employment ladder.

The Anchor Program has a track record of success and supports a drug free, clean and sober environment.  “Getting these young adults off the streets and into meaningful employment is my primary motivating force in bringing this program to Seattle,” says Nancy Gratton, a Seattle Police Department civilian employee who serves as the Program Director.
