Capitol Hill burglar arrested

On February 18th, at approximately 2:30 AM,  East Precinct officers responded to a house in the 1000 Block of East Republican Street for a report of a possible burglary in progress.  The occupant of the house called 911 to report that she was had been awakened by the sound of someone moving around inside her living room.  She told the operator that she was the only one who was supposed to be there.

Officers arrived quickly, set up containment, and called for a K9 unit.  Officers on containment located the suspect as he attempted to walk out the back door with a bag full of the victim’s possessions.  The suspect attempted to talk his way out of the situation by stating that he lived there, but the victim emphatically told officers that she did not know him, and that he definitely did not live there.  There did not appear to be any forced entry on the house. The 35 year old suspect was arrested and later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
