Robbery downtown, suspects arrested

On February 22nd, at about 2:50 PM, the victim was sitting in the 1300 Block of 2nd Avenue when he was approached by two male suspects.  According the victim, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him while demanding the victim’s I-phone.  The victim handed over the phone.  After taking the phone, one of the suspects assaulted the victim.  The suspects then fled southbound on 2nd Avenue.  The victim reported the robbery to police.

About 45 minutes later, the victim was in a phone store talking to employees about replacing his stolen phone when he saw the two suspects walk by the store.  He informed employees that the suspects had just walked by and employees called 911, providing descriptions and a location for responding officers.  Officers located the suspects as they were entering the Westlake Mall. 

The suspects were postively identified by the victim.  Officers located the stolen I-phone after one of the suspects tried to slough it in the backseat of a patrol car.  The gun was not located.  The two suspects, ages 20 and 24, were booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
