On 3/28/10, at approximately 2:10 p.m., King Couty Jail notified 911 that they had a disturbance on the 10th Floor. A short time later they called and stated they now had a riot in progress and requested any and all units to respond.
West and East Precinct officers were dispatched, along with KC Metro Units. SPD Officers set an inner and outer perimeter that extended out approximately three blocks. Pedestrian and vehicle traffic was shut down.
Once order was restored inside the jail, perimeters were clear and all traffic was reopened.
