Drug related robbery, suspect arrested downtown

On May 17th, just after midnight, Gang Unit detectives observed a disturbance in the 100 Block of Pine Street where the involved parties alleged they had been robbed by the other party.  After interviewing everyone involved, detectives learned that the intoxicated suspect had encountered the  victim on the street and offered to sell him an ecstasy tablet.  The victim gave the suspect $20 for the tablet and waited as the suspect said the pills were in the car.  The suspect’s friends arrived to pick him up and the suspect jumped into the car.  The victim jumped in as well to get his pill.  At that point the suspect pulled out a knife and told the victim to get out of the car.  The victim got out, leaving the suspect in possession of his $20.  It was at about this time that detectives observed the disturbance and intervened.  Despite the suspect’s insistence that he was actually the victim, the 21 year old suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery, in no small part based on the statements of his friends that came to pick him up.
