Car prowl in Lake City, suspects flee, minor damage to patrol cars

On June 5th at approximately 4:30 AM, North Precinct officers responded to a report of a car prowl in progress in the 12300 Block of 33 Avenue NE.  As officers were arriving in the area, they observed a suspicious vehicle leaving the immediate area.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car, descibed as a dark colored Cadillac Deville 4 door, struck the patrol car and refused to stop.  Several other patrol cars were in the area and the suspect vehicle also struck another patrol car as it continued down Lake City Way NE onto Interstate 5 southbound.  The damage to the patrol cars was minor and none of the officers were injured.  Officers followed  the suspect vehicle until it got onto I-5, when officers backed off from following.  Officers have enough information on the suspect vehicle to follow up the investigation.  This is an active and on going investigation.
