On June 6th, at approximatel 2:45 AM, West Precinct officers were in Belltown monitoring the closing of the bars when they heard a number of shots fired in the 2100 Block of 2nd Avenue (2nd and Blanchard). Officers responded to the area and located two adult males that had obvious gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk. One of the males was deceased, and the other was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Other officers in the area saw several people flee the scene immediately after the shots were fired and were able to detain those individuals. Homicide and CSI detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. This is an active and on going investigation and more information will be released once it is available.
