SPD working with Secret Service on credit card fraud

The Seattle Police Department is working with the United States Secret Service regarding a number of reports of fraudulent credit card charges in Seattle.  The Secret Service is the lead investigating agency in these cases and the Seattle Police Department is providing assistance.

At this early point in the investigation it does not appear that a fraudulent credit card access or “skimming” device was used.

All citizens are reminded to check their bank statements regulary for unfamiliar charges.  Should those charges exist, call the Seattle Police non-emergency line at (206) 625-5011. The investigation remains active and ongoing.  Additional crime prevention information can be found on the Seattle Police Web site and the Secret Service Web site.
