North Precinct officers nab burglar

On 2-27-11 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the victim , who resides at a house in the 5600 block of 11 Ave. NE, called 911 to report that a male was trying to break in to his residence via his back door.

A physical description and clothing description for the suspect was broadcast. The suspect was then seen trying to kick in the back door of another residence on the same block. Multiple units responded.

After attempting to establish a track, K98 released containment shortly before 9:00 p.m. Shortly thereafter an officer re-examined a broken window at the second residence the suspect tried breaking into and observed blood, not only on glass shards, but on an interior door inside the house.

That residence was contained. Officers repeatedly announced themselves as Seattle Police and ordered anybody in the house to come out. The officers entered the house through the broken window. Officers entered the house and found the lone white male suspect sitting on the floor just north of the front door.

The suspect had cuts on his hands. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary
