Burglary on Magnolia, suspect arrested

On May 13th, at approximately 3:30 AM, West Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress to a residence in the 3600 Block of 23rd Avenue West.  The report stated that a male suspect was attempting to enter the residence through a bathroom window at the rear of the house.  The occupants called 911 after they heard their dog barking and saw the suspect attempting to climb in.  As the suspect was attempting to climb through the windows, he dropped his glasses, which fell onto the bathroom floor.  The suspect fled after hearing the occupants scream.

While officers were enroute to the call, the suspect returned to the house and rang the front doorbell, demanding that the residents return his glasses.  The victims refused, and the suspect walked away southbound on 23rd Avenue West.

Officers arrived and set up containment, contacted the victims, and began to process the scene.  While on containment, one officer spotted the suspect near 20th Avenue West and Dravus Street, attempting to hide from police.    The suspect was detained, and the victims were brought by the location, where they positively identified the suspect as the man they saw attempting to enter their house.  He was then arrested.  The 36 year old male was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.  The suspect did not get  his glasses back, they were placed into evidence with a request for fingerprint analysis.
