A Greenlake groper caught

On May 27th at approximately 7:46 p.m. officers responded to the 7200 block of East Greenlake Drive North for a reported sexual assault.  Upon arrival the officers contacted the female victim who stated that she had just been sexually assaulted while walking across the street from the park.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an unknown male suspect passed by the victim on foot and then ran up behind her and groped her.  When the victim screamed the suspect ran off.

Investigating officers conducted an area search and located the suspect on the park’s running track.  The victim positively identified the suspect and he was subsequently placed under arrest.

It is unknown at this time if this suspect is connected to any other incidents that have occurred around the city.

Sexual Assault Unit detectives will be handling the follow up investigation.
