Armed Assault suspect arrested

On June 12th at around 5:27 a.m., South precinct patrol officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 9000 block of Seward Park Avenue S.  Officers made contact with a 22 year old female victim.  The victim told officers that she had met up with a male acquaintance and that he became angry with her.  She reported that she left in a car with a friend, but that the acquaintance followed her in his own car and forced them to pull over.  The victim said that the acquaintance got out of his car, pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger.  The victim said that the gun didn’t fire, so she and her friend drove around him and sped off.

The victim believed that she heard one gunshot as they drove away.

Later the same day, the victim called 911 to report the whereabouts of the acquaintance/suspect.  Southwest Precinct patrol officers were dispatched to check an address in the 5900 block of Delridge Way SW.  Upon arriving, officers spotted the suspect in question as he left his apartment.  Officers placed the 27 year old male under arrest without incident.  In a search incident to arrest, officers discovered a loaded pistol in his pocket.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault and Investigation of Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.

The firearm was placed into evidence.  The suspect’s car was impounded to the SPD Processing Room.
