Belltown drug seizure

On June 21st at around 12:15 a.m., West Precinct bicycle patrol officers in Belltown observed suspicious activity consistent with drug dealing.  They developed reasonable suspicion to stop a 48 year-old man and the vehicle he was associated with.  The contact resulted in the plain view observation of a small amount of suspected crack cocaine in the vehicle.  The suspect was released from the scene and his vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.

On June 22nd, the officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of the following items:

7.6 grams of crack cocaine
2.6 grams of marijuana
Drug paraphernalia including a razor blade and scale
Items and paperwork associated with an East Precinct burglary

The officers will be requesting that the suspect be charged with a felony drug offense.
