Officers/Detectives use old fashion gum-shoe detective work to track down 2 bank robbers

On 9/14/11, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers responded to a call of a bank robbery in the 5600 block of 24th NW.  Officers quickly arrived at the bank; however the two suspects had fled.

Officers and Robbery Detectives set up containment in the area. Officers/Detectives canvassed the area, talking to a host of witnesses who saw the 2 suspects fleeing the area. One witness told a detective that he saw the suspects change clothes.  One witness told officers that he saw the 2 suspects get into a cab. Detectives contacted the cab company and were told that the 2 suspects were dropped off at a motel in the 2400 block of Aurora Av N.

SWAT, K-9, Robbery Detectives, Patrol,  Traffic, Guardian 1, and CPT responded and set up containment on the motel. The suspects snuck out of the motel but were quickly apprehended in the immediate area by alert officers and detectives.

Both suspects were arrested without incident.  They will be subsequently booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
