Stolen car crashes into North Seattle apartment building

On October 22nd, just after 9:00 am, a North Precinct officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle at North 125th Street and Fremont Avenue North.  As soon as the officer activated the emergency equipment (overhead lights and siren), the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed.  The officer did not pursue or follow.  The suspect vehicle, now confirmed as a stolen vehicle, crashed into an apartment complex at North 134th Street and Greenwood Avenue North.  The front of the car went into an apartment.  Fortunately, there was no one inside at the time.  There were no injuries to any bystanders. Officers evacuated the upper floors of the building until the Seattle Fire Department could assess any structural damageto the building  from the crash.  The driver, a female, took off running into the building.  Despite an extensive search, the suspect was not located.  The Seattle Fire Department determined the building was safe after the car was removed and tenants were allow to return.
