Armed robbery of Central Area mini mart

On December 29th, at approximately 11:40 pm, East Precinct officers responded to a mini mart located in the 1900 Block of South Jackson Street to investigate a report of an armed robbery.  The victim stated that at approximately 11:35 he left the public area of the store to use the restroom.  When he came out of the restroom, he was confronted by three black males inside the store, one armed with a handgun.  The suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded to know where the money was.  The suspect ordered the victim to lie down on the floor.  One of the suspects took the victim’s wallet, while the other suspects attempted(unsuccessfully)  to open the cash register.  The suspects then took the cash register and fled on foot.

One of the suspects ran southbound on 20th Avenue South while the other two fled eastbound on South Jackson Street.   Officers responded and immediately set up containment.  A K-9 team was brought in and attempted a track, but the suspects were not located.  The following is a description of the suspects:

1) Black male, 20-24 years old, 6′, wearing a green ski mask, white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, silver semi-auto handgun.

2) Black male, 20-24, 5’7″, skinny, black ski mask, black jacket, black pants.

3) Black male, 20-24, 5’11”, skinny, black ski mask, black jacket, black pants.

Robbery detectives will now handle the follow up investigation.  If anyone has any information on this robbery, they are urged to contact the Seattle Police Department.
