Man stabbed-suspect arrested

On 03/03/12, at approximately 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of 1 Av S to a report of a man threatening to stab another man with a knife.  According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect was upset because someone had stolen his belongings. He then went to valets who were working a wedding party, and asked them to help him locate his property. He told them that  he had been robbed, and accused the limo drivers of stealing his belongings.

The male was acting irrationally, and attempted to get inside the wedding venue a this location. When he was not allowed to go inside he threatened the valets that he would shoot them. The valets walked away to try and break contact with the male and he followed them. He took off his backpack and coat, and produced a knife.

The male began to wave the knife around in the air towards the valets. The male went after one of the valets, and the valet put up his arm to protect himself. The valet was stabbed in the forearm.

Officers arrived, located the suspect several blocks away, and also located the knife a block away from the scene. The suspect was arrested without incident. 

Seattle Fire Department treated the victim at the scene, and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious but not life threatening injuries. 

The suspect has a long criminal history, and is labeled as an Ultra Risk by King County Jail.
