On 03/11/12, at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male that had climbed a fence and was now in a secure area of the King County Jail, in the 500 block of 5th Ave. Although still outside, the suspect had actually broken into the jail complex. Officers arrived were able to quickly take the suspect into custody without incident.
King County Jail staff stated that the male made several attempts to open a locked door, but was unsuccessful.
The male stated he knew where he was, but offered no explanation for climbing into the secure area. Officers booked the man into King County Jail for Criminal Trespass.
