On March 18th at approximately 1:10 p.m. Bicycle Officers were making a warrant arrest at 3rd Avenue and Pine Street. While doing so, the officers witnessed a female pedestrian get struck by a Metro bus at the intersection.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was walking west on Pine Street against the “Don’t Walk” signal, and stepped into the path of a Metro bus heading northbound on 3rd Avenue at Pine Street.
The officers rushed to check on the pedestrian, who was conscious and alert and had a large laceration on the back of her head.
SFD medics transported the 47-year-old female pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
This remains an active and on-going collision investigation.
