South Seattle business robbed

On April 10th, at approximately 1:20 pm, an unknown suspect entered a sandwich shop in the 4800 Block of Rainier Avenue South.  After ordering food, he presented the clerk with a note that indicated he had a gun and demanded the money from the register.  The suspect had a knife in his hand.  The clerk gave the suspect money from the cash register and then the suspect left the store on foot, last seen walking southbound on Rainier Avenue South.  South Precinct officers responded and conducted an area search, but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as follows:  Black male, 25-30 years old, 5′ 8″ tall, 150 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a darker grey bird on the back, blue jeans and tennis shoes.  Witnesses stated that the suspect had “distinctive” hazel eyes.  Robbery Unit detectives will handle the follow up investigation.  Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Seattle Police Department.
