Vehicles exchange gunfire in a South Seattle neighborhood

On 4/22/12, at approximately 7:15 p.m., the victim left his house in the 4600 block of S. Holden and got into a white truck driven by a friend and drove E/B on S. Holden St.  At the corner of 48th Av S and S. Holden St. they were met by gunfire from a suspect(s) in a black Mercedes, year unknown.

The victim and his friend turned and fled W/B on S. Holden while returning fire as the black Mercedes fled E/B on S. Holden St.  This may be connected to a shootout a short time earlier in the 5300 block of 32 Ave S.  Officers responded to the scene and conducted a public safety search looking for bullet holes in nearby houses and cars then photographed the scene and gathered evidence.

The Gang Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives do not believe this is a random act.
