On 5-26-2012, at approximately 3:52 a.m., an alarm was received by an alarm company indicating a location at the Fine Jewelry section inside a department store at 3rd and Pine. Officers responded and observed two suspects inside the rollup gate pushing stolen items out to the third suspect. The third suspect was immediately arrested. The other two suspects ran back to the store.
A containment was set up for K9 units. The two suspects ran out a fire escape door at the south end of the store. One suspect was captured a half block away while the other suspect ran for three blocks and was captured at 2nd and Union.
Some of the stolen items were recovered when the 2nd suspect threw them into the street prior to his arrest.
Two of the three suspects, ages 15 and 14 were booked into the Youth Service Center for Investigation of Burglary. The 12- year-old female suspect was investigated and released to her mother pending Prosecutor’s review.
