A burglar tries to evade capture by running into blackberry bushes. On 7/19/12, just shortly before midnight, officers responded to an occupied burglary in progress. The female victim was inside her residence in the 4600 block of 21st Av NE., when the suspect removed the screen from the window and inserted his legs through the window.
The victim’s boyfriend ran outside and confronted the burglar who ran away and hide behind a vehicle. Officers arrived and spotted the suspect running just east of the residence into a wooded area.
Officers gave chase as the suspect ran thru a heavily wooded area filled with blackberry bushes. The suspect was caught and placed under arrest. There were no injuries to the officers or the suspect. The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
