Two people were injured in a drive-by bb gun shooting in the University District late Tuesday evening.
Around 11pm, a man and a woman were walking near NE 55th Street and 17th Avenue NE when a red, two-door Pontiac pulled up in front of them on the street, blocking their way.
The driver, described as a black male wearing a grey hoodie, pointed a black bb gun at the two victims and fired several shots at them, striking both victims in the abdomen.
As if the suspect’s random act of unprovoked violence wasn’t bad enough, he also committed a bit of local sports sacrilege: the pellets from the suspect’s gun also ripped holes in two posters the victims were carrying, commemorating Seattle Mariner Felix Hernandez’s recent perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The suspect sped away and the victims called police, but officers weren’t able to track down the suspect’s car.
