Bank Robber Doesn’t Get Far After Failed Heist

A bank robber didn’t get far after he tried to hold up a bank Friday afternoon in downtown Seattle.

At about 3:40 pm, the robber walked into a Wells Fargo on 4th Avenue and Pine Street and handed a teller a note—scrawled on a receipt from a sandwich shop—demanding money. In the note, the robber also claimed he had a gun and an explosive device.

For some reason, the man left the bank without any cash. Officers immediately swooped in and arrested the man moments after he left the bank.

Detectives are now interviewing the man about the robbery.
