Man threatened to “hurt” victim at South Seattle club

Officers received a complaint that a patron of the Royal Esquire Club had been in an argument and was now outside waiting to “hurt” the other party.  This morning just shortly before 1:00 a.m. officers responded to the 5000 block of Rainer Av S to contact the suspect. They were advised that the suspect waiting outside was likely armed with a handgun.

Officers arrived and found the suspect waiting in a vehicle across the street with a view of the main doors to the club.  When contacting the suspect officers located a loaded handgun.  It was discovered that the threat was third party and the victim could not be located. The man was identified and released at the scene.  The gun was seized to prevent escalated violence.  The handgun was submitted as evidence and the case forwarded to prosecutors for final review.
