A man was “lured” into Golden Gardens by an acquaintance and robbed

A man claimed he was pistol whipped and punched in the face. Last night just shortly after 8:00 p.m., the victim reported that a known acquaintance lured him into Golden Gardens to discuss money owed to the victim. The acquaintance brought two associates with him and they all ended up in the most remote part of the park.

Once there, the acquaintance and two associates produced a revolver style handgun and demanded that the victim “give them everything”. The victim was then “pistol whipped” prior to the suspect’s fleeing with the victim’s necklace and his vehicle.

The victim also reported that the suspect holding the gun had an accidental discharge when he pistol whipped him in the face. This reportedly seemed to scare all three suspects and motivated them to flee.

Even though the victim stated that he was pistol whipped and punched in the face, the only injury he sustained was a small scratch and minor bruising. Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene, cleaned his injury and determined that he did not need any further treatment, not even a bandage.

When directly asked, the victim would not rule out the possibility that drugs were involved in this incident.

A later check of the victim’s criminal history revealed that he has over 50 prior arrests. All of his most recent arrests were for narcotics violations.

A statement was taken from the victim and a signed vehicle report was obtained. The investigation continues.
