Shooting in Beacon Hill is now a Homicide

Homicide detectives are actively investigating a murder that occurred in Beacon Hill.  On February 4th at approximately 5:39 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a man shot in the 2400 block of South Columbian Way.  The victim, a 38-year-old male, was in front of his house when he was contacted by a male suspect.  The suspect shot the victim several times and then ran off eastbound.

Fire department medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center where he later died as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.

Officers searched the area for the suspect however, he remains at large.  A description of the suspect is not available at this time.

Homicide and CSI detectives responded to the scene and continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the suspect/victim encounter and what exactly precipitated the shooting.  Detectives say that this does not appear to be a random crime.

A small black car was seen driving from the area at the time of the shooting however, it is unknown if that vehicle was involved in any way.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Homicide Tip Line at (206) 233-5000 and refer to this incident.  Anonymous tips are welcome.

This remains an active and on-going investigation homicide investigation.
