A Parking Enforcement Officer was struck in a hit and run collision early this afternoon in the U-District.
At approximately 12:36 p.m. officers responded to the report of a female Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) that was struck in a hit and run collision in the 4300 block of University Way NE. Preliminary investigation indictates that the PEO was on duty when the driver of a white Ford SUV struck her with his vehicle side mirror. The suspect driver immediately fled the scene without stopping. Officers are currently conducting an area search for the suspect.
The PEO was not injured and declined medical attention.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
