Human Remains Found North of Downtown

Officers and detectives responded to an overgrown campsite where apparent human remains were found north of downtown.

On April 11th at approximately 11:40 a.m. Seattle Parks personnel were clearing blackberry bushes from the steep hillside in the 600 block of Galer Street.  The workers uncovered what appeared to be human bones in an overgrown campsite.  They subsequently called 911.

Homicide and CSI detectives as well as King County Medical Examiner (KCME) personnel responded to the scene.  Preliminary investigation indicated that the remains had been there for a significant period of time.  The detectives processed the scene and the KCME took custody of the remains.

Homicide detectives and the KCME’s Office continue to actively investigate.
