Seattle police officers arrested a very knotty man Saturday morning for a brutally assaulting a Norway Maple.
Around 1 AM Saturday, several members of the West Precinct’s Anti-Crime Team were driving by Denny Park when they spotted a man manhandling a tree along the south side of Denny Way.
Officers watched as the man reached up, wrapped both his hands around the limb of the tree, and snapped off a large branch.
After watching the Once-ler rip the tree limb from limb, officers stopped the 30-year-old man and arrested him for property destruction.
Officers estimated the man did around $200 in damage to the tree.
