A woman fought off a purse snatcher in the Central District early Saturday morning after he interrupted her while she was doing her business in some bushes.
Around 1 AM, the woman was walking near 15th Ave and E Cherry St when she stopped to relieve herself in some shrubbery.
While the woman was relieving herself, a man appeared in front of her, watched her for a moment and then tried to grab the woman’s purse.
The woman was able to hold on to her purse and push the suspect away before he walked off.
The woman then walked to a friend’s house and called police.
Officers searched the area but couldn’t find the suspect.
Police are still looking for clues in the case, but their number one suspect appears to be a Hispanic male, about 30 years old, with black hair, who was wearing a red shirt and light-colored pants at the time of the incident.
