A motor scooter operator was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was involved in a collision with an SUV in South Seattle today.

At approximately 5:05 p.m. officers responded to a vehicle/scooter collision at 6th Avenue South and South Michigan Street.  Preliminary investigation indicates that an adult female was driving her white 2002 Lexus RX300 SUV southbound on 6th Avenue South approaching South Michigan Street.  At the same time a 27-year-old man was driving his 2008 maroon “Roket” motor scooter eastbound on South Michigan Street approaching 6th Avenue South.  The two vehicles collided in the intersection causing the motor scooter operator to be ejected from his scooter.  The events leading up to the collision remain under active investigation.
