Man Seriously Wounded In Ravenna Shooting

A 56-year-old man was seriously wounded in a street corner shooting in Ravenna this morning.

Just after 8:30 AM, two men in a dark-colored sedan pulled up near the 56-year-old victim as he was standing on the street near 26th Ave Ne and NE 55th Street.

One of the men got out of the car, pulled out a gun and fired several shots, striking the victim and a van parked on the street.

The gunman then climbed back in the car, which sped north on 27th Avenue NE.

The victim was taken to Harborview with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are still investigating the incident, but believe the suspects—believed to be in their late teens to early 20s—had specifically sought out their victim this morning, and that the shooting was not random.
