Armed Robbery of a Downtown Shoe Store

Officers are looking for an armed man who robbed a shoe store downtown and remains at large.

On September 17th at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the report of an armed robbery of a shoe store in the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue.  Preliminary investigation indicates that a black male suspect entered the Payless Shoe Store armed with a handgun and made off with cash, shoes, and socks.  An area search by responding officers was negative and the suspect remains at large.  Nobody was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40’s, 5’6″ tall with a thin build and last seen wearing a blue and orange baseball cap, a black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5535 and refer to this incident.  Anonymous tips are welcome.
