Armed Robbery in South Seattle, Suspect at Large

Officers continue looking for an armed man who robbed a woman of her cash in South Seattle early this evening. 

At approximately 4:46 p.m. officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at 38th Avenue South and South Oregon Street.  Preliminary investigation indicates that a 31-year-old woman was robbed by an adult male suspect who displayed a handgun that was tucked in his waistband.  The suspect stole the woman’s purse (containing a large amount of cash) and fled the scene running westbound.  An area search was negative and the suspect remains at large.  The victim was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’1″ tall, medium build, clean shaven, and wearing a black beanie, black sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.  Anonymous tips are welcome.
