Armed Robbery of a Beauty Supply Store in South Seattle

A woman was assaulted and nearly injured during an armed robbery in South Seattle early this afternoon.

At 1:00 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a woman running out of a beauty supply store screaming in the 1900 block of Rainier Avenue South.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a male suspect entered the store and pulled out a knife.  He confronted a female store employee, demanded money, and swung at the victim with the knife.  Thankfully the victim was not injured.  The suspect then went into the cash register and fled with the store’s keys.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.  The only suspect description available at this time is that he was an Asian male.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.  Anonymous tips are welcome.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
