Barricaded Situation, Threats in Greenwood, Suspect in Custody

Police responded to a house in the Greenwood neighborhood, the second time in less than 24-hours, this time on a barricaded person call.

Shortly after 10:00 am this morning, officers responded to the 14000 Block of Greenwood Avenue North on a call of a man who had barricaded himself in the bathroom with a large butcher knife. Officers dealt with the same individual on Saturday, and sent him to the hospital on for a mental health evaluation, for making similar threats.

On Sunday, the man threatened to harm not only himself, but others inside the house, including the police.    The other people in the house had been safely evacuated.  After hours of talking with crisis negoitiators, the man was taken into custody safely.  The 32-year-old man was later booked into the King County Jail
