Police continue to look for a man who stabbed another man this evening near Occidental Park.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Occidental Avenue South. Preliminary investigation indicates that two men in their 30’s got into an altercation on the street. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the back and fled the scene eastbound on Yesler Way. The suspect was gone upon the officers’ arrival on scene.
Further investigation indicates that the suspect and victim were not strangers to each other. The circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain unknown and under active investigation.
Officers conducted an area search for the suspect however, he remains at large.
Fire department medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s with a stocky build and last seen wearing a dark wool cap, black jacket and green or blue pants.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.
