Early Morning Construction Site Burglary near Seattle Center, Suspect Arrested

A 27-year-old man was arrested early this morning for burglary following an alarm call at a construction site.  At around 2:25 this morning, West Precinct officers responded to a burglary alarm call at a construction site in the 300 Block of 1st Avenue North, near the Seattle Center.  The off-site alarm monitoring company saw two suspects on video inside the fenced construction area, standing next to a crane.  Officers arrived and contained the area.  Officers saw one suspect attempting to flee out of the north end of the lot, but he quickly gave up and complied with the officers’ orders.  He was arrested without incident.  While that suspect was being arrested, a second suspect climbed over a fence at the south end and managed to get past the containment.  A K-9 team did respond, but that suspect was not located.

The 27-year-old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
