Pantless Man Arrested After Kicking In Apartment Door In Superfluous Search For His Coat

Seattle police arrested a pantless man near Yesler Terrace Friday morning after he kicked in an apartment door and told a resident he was “looking for his coat.”

Officers arrived at the apartment, in the 300 block of 11th Avenue, just before 11AM, where they found the very intoxicated suspect flat on his back in the hallway outside the victim’s apartment. The suspect had urinated on himself and was covered in cuts, scrapes and bruises.

Officers spoke with the apartment resident, who said he did not know the suspect and had never seen him before. Officers then spoke with a second man inside the victim’s apartment, who admitted he had been “partying” at the apartment with the suspect the night before.

Police were able to locate the suspect’s missing coat—he was wearing it—and called for an ambulance to transport him to Harborview for treatment. It’s unclear how the man sustained his various cuts and bruises.

Police will refer the case to prosecutors for possible property destruction charges.
