Burglar Tries to Slash Man In Early Morning Break-in In Columbia City

Seattle police are searching for a burglar who tried to stab a man while breaking into a Columbia City apartment this morning.

Around 4:50 AM, police received a 911 call from a man and a woman, who said a burglar had just tried to climb in their bedroom window.

When officers arrived at the victims’ apartment in the 3700 block of S Angeline St, the couple told police the window was left propped open overnight and they had awoken early that morning to the sound of the suspect opening the window.

When the male victim jumped out of bed and tried to close the window, the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed at the victim, grazing him.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Police searched the neighborhood but weren’t able to find the suspect.

One of the victims told police they may know the suspect from a day labor site near Columbia City.
