A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing W. Nickerson and 6 Av W last night. On March 18, 2014, just shortly after 9:00 p.m., a Red Honda Civic was traveling westbound on W Nickerson St. At the same time a pedestrian was crossing W Nickerson St at the intersection of 6 Ave W and was struck by the Honda.
Seattle Fire Department Medics transported the pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
As is protocol, a Drug Recognition Expert Officer evaluated the adult driver and determined that he was not impaired. The driver was released at the scene pending further investigation.
The scene was processed by Traffic Collision Investigators. The investigation continues.
