Woman Dragged Across The Ground As Robber Steals Her Purse

A robbery suspect remains at large after dragging a woman across the ground and stealing her purse.

On April 12th at 10:33 a.m. officers responded to Rainier Avenue South and South Brandon Street for the report of a robbery. Preliminary investigation indicates that the 41-year-old female victim was walking at Rainier and Brandon when an unknown male suspect walked up and grabbed the victim’s red purse. The victim held onto her purse and the suspect proceeded to drag her across the ground while trying to muscle the purse away from the victim.

The suspect was able to break the purse free of the victim and ran off eastbound on South Brandon Street.

Responding officers conducted an extensive area search for the suspect however, he remains at large. 

The suspect was described as a black male in his 30’s, 5’2″ to 5’3″ tall with a slim build, and was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket and dark jeans.

The victim suffered pain to her left arm and hip and also had torn jeans from being dragged on the ground. 

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police and refer to this incident.
